I SURRENDER BY INIOLUWA GEM
Inioluwa GEM (Birth name: Inioluwa Kemi Oni) is a recording artist, writer, performing artist, and producer. The first of two children birthed by Reverend and Mrs Oni, she started singing solos from a tender age. She is known for leading a song, ‘OJO OLA’ while she was a student at Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, Nigeria, and a member of the UJCM (University Joint Christian Mission) choir there and also for the role of ‘Pelumi’ she acted in the stage musical titled ‘PELUMI’ by Muyiwa Adigun Show which premiered in OAU and was also brought to the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), Nigeria. When asked about her music, Inioluwa GEM says, “My motto is simplicity and clarity, excellence and creativity. When I write songs and when I sing, I want people to understand, in clear terms, the message I am passing across. In my lyrics are my experiences and my stories which I believe others can find themselves in”. It is no wonder a major characteristic of her songs is easy-to-sing and remembering choruses. She also believes in loyalty, patience, love, and faith which are evident in the songs she writes. For Inioluwa GEM, although music is what she does mainly, it is not the only thing she does. According to her, “What matters most to me is that I pass my message across. There are a lot of creative ways to do that and I discover more of what I can do to pass my message across every day. I believe everyone does have a message. It is what makes one excellent and unique. For me, the core of my message is that people recognize that they can be the best they are meant to be and that they are special and loved, their past or present circumstances notwithstanding. I sing about it, write about it, talk about it, do whatever I am inspired to do to let them know”. Audio On https://www.reverbnation.com/inioluwa...
